Best no-code Instagram DM automation tools in 2026

Last checked against each vendor's own site on October 30, 2026.

The best no-code Instagram DM automation tool depends on what the DM has to do. To turn comments into DMs, use ManyChat for full flows or LinkDM for a simple link reply. To run DM campaigns and an AI agent on Instagram alone, use Inrō. To let AI book into a calendar you already keep, use Margo, or ChatPal if you also need other channels. For appointments on a built-in calendar, with replies you control, use Meerlume, which doesn't do comment triggers.

We make Meerlume, so read this with that in mind. Meerlume doesn't reply to comments, so we point you to other tools for that job. Every other entry comes from that vendor's own site. We leave other vendors' prices out because they change often, so check the pricing page before you choose.

The 9 tools in detail

1. Meerlume

That's us

Businesses that take appointments in Instagram DMs and want a built-in calendar without building a flow by hand.

  • Builds the whole bot from a plain-language description of your business.
  • A built-in calendar that offers only free times, with rescheduling and cancelling in the chat.
  • Connects a professional account with Instagram login, with no linked Facebook Page.
  • An inbox where you take over any conversation.
  • A deposit step that sends a Stripe Checkout link from your own account.
  • The same bot on WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger and your website when you need them.

Skip it if: You want comment triggers. Meerlume doesn't reply to comments, so the customer has to message you first. It also has no broadcasts, and the bot doesn't write its own replies. On Instagram a chat reminder only goes out inside the 24-hour window, then by email if the customer gave an address, otherwise not at all. One calendar takes one booking at a time, with no capacity count, so group classes don't fit. It's one login with no seats, and one bot per language.

2. ManyChat

Visit site

Creators and brands that want comments, Stories and DMs to feed sales and lead flows.

  • Comment to DM, plus Story replies, Story mentions, Live comments and keywords.
  • Quick Automations, a visual flow builder and AI that can draft flows for you.
  • A Buy Button in Instagram DMs through Stripe or PayPal, on Pro and up.
  • AI replies from your business knowledge, included from Pro.
  • Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, SMS and email in one account, with the channel count set by plan.

Skip it if: You sell time slots. We found no booking calendar on the pages we read, so a booking usually means a link to another tool, or a third-party Calendly app we couldn't confirm on Instagram. The Free plan also leaves out data collection and conditions, and keeps ManyChat branding on messages. Billing follows monthly active contacts, and its pricing table excludes Instagram from broadcasts.

3. LinkDM

Visit site

Creators and affiliate accounts that want a comment to send a link, with almost no setup.

  • Comment to DM on posts and Reels, on the Free plan.
  • Story replies and Story mentions, also on Free.
  • Follow-up DM flows, reminder DMs and lead capture, on Pro.
  • Automatic replies to inbox messages, ad comments and Lives, on Pro.
  • Lead forms that connect to Kit and Flodesk.

Skip it if: You want a bot that holds a conversation or takes bookings. On Free it sends links rather than answering the inbox, since Inbox Automation starts on Pro, and DMs carry LinkDM branding. We found no booking calendar or payments on the pages we read. It also needs Instagram linked to a Facebook Page.

4. Inrō

Visit site

Brands and creators that sell through Instagram alone and want comment triggers, DM campaigns and an AI agent in one tool.

  • Comment to DM, plus Story replies, mentions, Lives and ads.
  • An AI agent trained on your site, FAQ and price list, with a small credit allowance on Free.
  • DM campaigns to a segment of your contacts, with multi-step sequences.
  • Calendly booking cards and Stripe payment links in the DM, on Pro.
  • Ready-made templates you copy and edit.

Skip it if: You want the booking to happen in the DM. Its booking template sends a link, and the booking itself happens on your booking page. Integrations and payment links aren't on the Free plan. It only covers Instagram, and Pro billing follows the contacts you activate each month.

5. Margo

Visit site

Salons, barbers and studios that want an AI receptionist on Instagram and already keep a calendar online.

  • Reads your bio, posts, highlights and website, then drafts your services, prices and FAQ for you to approve.
  • Offers open times from your calendar and confirms the booking in the DM.
  • Comment and keyword replies, tracked links and a link in bio.
  • Reminders the day before and two hours before.
  • Broadcasts and lead export, on Pro.

Skip it if: You want a bot that only says what you wrote, since Margo's AI writes the replies. It books into a calendar you connect, and Square, Vagaro and Fresha are marked as coming soon. It only covers Instagram, and its FAQ says access is still rolling out account by account, so check yours is enabled.

6. ChatPal

Visit site

Service businesses and shops that want one AI assistant answering from their own content on Instagram and other channels.

  • Answers DMs from your FAQ, services and hours, and hands over to a person.
  • Books into Google Calendar on every plan, including Free, or into Calendly or Altegio.
  • Customers reschedule or cancel in the chat, and reminders you add go to the same chat.
  • WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and website chat on every plan.

Skip it if: You want comment or Story triggers. Its Instagram page says story replies and mentions aren't supported, and its own comparison says it does no comment campaigns. It needs Instagram linked to a Facebook Page, and the assistant stops replying when you reach your monthly message limit. On Calendly's free plan it shares a link instead of booking.

7. Chatfuel

Visit site

WhatsApp and Instagram sellers that want an AI agent working comments, DMs and ad enquiries.

  • An AI agent that replies to DMs, post and Reel comments, Story replies and ad comments.
  • Its own calendar with services and specialists, where the AI agent books in Instagram DMs.
  • Sends your Stripe, PayPal or Square link at the right moment and checks the receipt.
  • Lead cards, a shared inbox and reporting by ad creative.

Skip it if: You want a free plan, since it lists a 7-day trial. Booking confirmations and reminders go out on WhatsApp only, so a customer who only uses Instagram doesn't get them. It has no built-in payment gateway, and AI replies pause if your credits run out. You also can't use the calendar from a flow yet, only from the AI agent.

8. respond.io

Visit site

Mid-market B2C teams that handle a high volume of conversations across Instagram and other channels.

  • One team inbox for Instagram DMs, comments, Story interactions and ad enquiries.
  • Auto-replies to DMs and comments on posts, Reels and Lives.
  • AI Agents and Workflows, from the Growth plan.
  • Sync to HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho and Shopify.
  • Reports on response times and agent performance.

Skip it if: You run one account with occasional DMs. Respond.io says the Instagram app itself is enough for that. There's no free plan, Workflows, AI Agents and calendar links start on Growth, and it needs an Instagram Business account rather than a Creator one.

9. Metricool

Visit site

Social media managers and creators who plan posts in Metricool and want keyword replies in the same tool.

  • Flows turn keyword comments into DMs, public replies or both.
  • Keyword replies in DMs, and Story replies turned into DMs.
  • Up to 3 reply versions for one Flow, with stats on each Flow.
  • Scheduling, analytics and an inbox in the same account.

Skip it if: You want a conversation rather than a reply with a link. We found no booking calendar, payments or AI replies in Flows on the pages we read. Flows need a paid plan, and the pricing page says they're at no extra cost for a limited time, so check that before you rely on them.

How we compared them

We started from the tools that AI assistants and Google named for Instagram DM automation and Instagram booking bots in October 2026, then kept nine that do different jobs. It isn't a complete list. For each vendor we read the homepage or main Instagram page and the pricing page, including its comparison table where it had one, plus its Instagram, booking, payment or integration pages and help articles where an entry depended on them. We didn't read every page, and we didn't sign up and test each tool.

“No calendar listed” and “No payments listed” mean we couldn't find one on the pages we read, not that one can't be connected.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free Instagram DM automation tool?
It depends on what the free plan has to do. LinkDM's Free plan includes comment-to-DM with a monthly DM limit and its branding, but replying to inbox messages starts on Pro. ManyChat's Free plan allows 4 live automations for a small number of contacts. Inrō's has an active contact limit and a small AI allowance. Margo's includes AI booking with a small conversation limit, and ChatPal's includes Google Calendar booking with a message limit. Metricool's free plan doesn't include Flows, and Chatfuel and respond.io offer trials instead. Meerlume's Free plan doesn't include Instagram.
What is an Instagram DM bot?
It's software connected to a professional Instagram account through Meta's official API that replies to messages for you. Some follow rules you set, such as sending a link when someone uses a keyword. Others use AI to write each reply from your business details. Instagram also has basic built-in replies, such as away messages and FAQ questions. You'll need a professional account, which is free to switch to.
Can an Instagram DM bot message people first?
Not out of the blue. The person has to act first, such as sending a DM, replying to a Story or commenting, and ManyChat can also greet new followers. A comment lets a business send one private reply within seven days, and more only after the person answers. For most conversations, automated messages then stop 24 hours after the customer's last message, and ads that open a chat can run longer. These are Meta's rules, so they apply to every tool here. Tools with Meta's Human Agent permission let a person reply by hand for up to seven days. Meerlume's inbox doesn't, so reply within 24 hours.
Which tools turn an Instagram comment into a DM?
ManyChat, LinkDM, Inrō, Margo, Chatfuel, respond.io and Metricool all reply to comments. ChatPal says it does no comment campaigns. Meerlume doesn't reply to comments either: it answers once someone sends a DM, from your profile, a Story reply or an ig.me link. If comment-to-DM is the main job, pick one of the first group.
Can an Instagram DM bot take bookings?
Yes, but check what stands behind it. A real booking needs live availability, so two customers can't take the same time. Meerlume has that built in, one customer per time on each calendar, and Chatfuel has its own calendar too. Margo and ChatPal check a calendar you connect. Inrō sends a booking link, the booking happens on that page, and respond.io's integration pages describe sending a link too. We found no calendar on the pages we read for ManyChat, LinkDM or Metricool.
Do booking reminders work on Instagram?
Mostly only inside Meta's 24-hour window, so a booking made a week ahead needs another route. Meerlume sends the reminder in the chat if the window is open, then by email if the customer gave an address, otherwise not at all. ChatPal says its Instagram reminders may not arrive after 24 hours, and Margo's own guide says to collect an email for the same reason. Chatfuel sends reminders on WhatsApp only. Ask for an email during the booking if reminders matter to you.
Can an Instagram DM bot take payments?
Yes. ManyChat has a Stripe or PayPal Buy Button on Pro and up, and Inrō sends a Stripe payment link on Pro. Meerlume sends a Stripe Checkout link from your own account on the Growth plan and up, and waits for the payment before it carries on. Chatfuel's AI agent sends a link you provide and checks the receipt, but it can't charge anyone itself.
Do these bots use AI to answer customers?
Several do, including Inrō, Margo, ChatPal, Chatfuel and respond.io, and ManyChat from Pro. LinkDM and Metricool send replies you wrote. Meerlume works differently: AI builds the first version and reads typed messages the bot can't use as an answer, but it never writes a reply. The bot sends the messages in your flow and Meerlume's standard prompts. You can turn that reading off for each bot.
What does Meerlume cost on Instagram?
Instagram starts on the Growth plan at $49 a month. Free covers Telegram and website chat, and Starter at $19 a month adds WhatsApp. You can build a bot and test it in the live preview on Free before you pay.
