Best no-code website chatbot builders in 2026
Last checked against each vendor's own site on October 30, 2026.
The best no-code website chatbot builder depends on the job. For appointments booked on your own site, use Meerlume, which builds the bot from a description of your business and has a calendar built in. For live chat and AI on an online store, use Tidio. For an AI agent that answers from your own content, use Chatbase. For capturing leads, use Landbot, or HubSpot if you want the chat tied to a CRM.
We make Meerlume, so read this with that in mind. Every other entry comes from that vendor's own site. We leave other vendors' prices out because they change often, so check the pricing page before you choose.

The 9 tools in detail
1. Meerlume
That's usBusinesses that take appointments on their own website and want a built-in calendar without building a flow by hand.
- Builds the whole bot from a plain-language description of your business.
- One script tag adds a chat bubble or an in-page chat, and the official WordPress plugin does the same without editing your theme.
- A built-in calendar that offers only free times, with rescheduling and cancelling in the chat.
- Visitors get a six-character booking reference and a personal link to reschedule or cancel from any device later.
- An inbox where you take over any conversation while the visitor has the tab open.
- The same bot on Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger when you need them.
Skip it if: You need a bot that answers freely from your website or writes its own replies, or you want broadcasts or campaigns. Google Calendar sync is planned, not available yet. One calendar takes one booking at a time, with no capacity count, and a pending request holds its slot, so group classes don't fit. It's one login with no seats, and one bot per language.
2. Tidio
Online stores and service businesses that want live chat and an AI agent in one widget.
- Lyro, an AI agent that answers from your website, help centre and product data, then hands over to your team.
- No-code Flows that open a chat on triggers such as exit intent or a cart nudge.
- A plugin for WordPress and other platforms, or one line of JavaScript for any other site.
- A help desk for live chat, email, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
- Product recommendations in the chat from your store catalogue, with a paid Lyro quota.
Skip it if: Booking is the main job. Google Calendar connects through Zapier, Make or the Tidio API, where free slots can appear in the chat, and the Calendly action shares a booking link rather than a slot picker. The Free plan has a monthly conversation limit, a Flows limit and a one-time Lyro allowance, and Tidio branding comes off through an add-on.
3. Chatbase
Businesses that want an AI agent that answers from their own content, live on their site quickly.
- Connect your data sources, set the agent's role and guardrails, and deploy with no code.
- Reads live availability from Calendly or Cal.com and books inside the chat.
- Procedures and actions so the agent follows set steps, such as a return.
- A helpdesk where the AI and your team work from the same conversation.
- An official WordPress plugin, and embed code for sites such as Wix and Framer.
Skip it if: You want to fix every message the bot sends. Its pricing page lists a 7-day trial and paid plans, though its docs mention a Free tier, usage runs on message credits, and removing Chatbase branding is a paid add-on. Bookings need a Calendly or Cal.com account.
4. Landbot
Marketing teams that want to replace a website form with a conversation that qualifies leads.
- A visual builder with templates, and an AI Copilot that builds a flow from a prompt.
- Three web formats: a chat bubble, a full page or an in-page embed.
- A Calendly block for web bots, on Professional and Business.
- A Stripe block for one-time payments in web bots, on Premium plans.
- Human takeover in a shared inbox on every plan.
Skip it if: You want bookings or AI on a free plan. Free is web only with no AI chats and keeps Landbot branding, and the Calendly block starts at Professional. WhatsApp on your own number is an add-on from Professional.
5. HubSpot
Teams that already use HubSpot, or want a free CRM, and want website chat tied to it.
- Rule-based chatbots built from templates in a visual editor, with no code.
- Answers sync to the contact record, and the bot can personalise messages from CRM data.
- A Meetings bot template that shares your meetings link in the chat.
- Hand over to a person in a shared inbox.
- A WordPress plugin, or the tracking code on other sites.
Skip it if: You want a branching bot for free, or you don't need a CRM. If/then branches need a Professional or Enterprise plan, the free tools carry HubSpot branding and include one personal meetings link, and the AI customer agent also needs Professional or Enterprise.
6. Botpress
Support teams that want a custom AI agent that takes actions, on the website and beyond.
- AI agents built in natural language or a visual studio, with custom code when needed.
- Webchat embed code for any site, with guides for WordPress, Wix and Webflow.
- An official Google Calendar integration, plus Calendly and Cal.com.
- The bot can create Stripe payment and subscription links.
- Botpress Desk for tickets, with no per-seat charge.
Skip it if: You want a booking bot rather than a support agent. The product leads with AI customer support, and you connect and set up the calendar yourself. On paid plans, conversation packs are added automatically when you reach your quota, and that can't be turned off.
7. Intercom
Support teams that want an AI agent and a full help desk in one system.
- Fin answers from your content and hands off to your team in the same inbox.
- A Messenger chat for web, iOS and Android.
- A shared inbox, ticketing and a public help centre on every plan.
- Google Calendar, Outlook and Calendly apps that book meetings in the Messenger, and a Cal.com connector for Fin.
- Stripe connectors let Fin read billing details and issue refunds.
Skip it if: You want a free plan or a simple booking bot. It lists a 14-day trial, then paid seats with Fin billed per outcome. Its Fin data connectors need verified users, through JWT or email OTP, which matters for anonymous visitors. The WordPress plugin doesn't work on EU-hosted workspaces.
8. Typebot
People who want a chat-style form they fully control, and can host themselves.
- A visual flow editor with text, media, date picker and payment inputs.
- Embed it in a page, as a popup or as a chat bubble.
- A WordPress plugin, and guides for Webflow, React and plain HTML.
- A Cal.com block for booking and a Stripe payment block.
- Fair source (FSL), with a self-hosting guide, and blocks for OpenAI, Anthropic and Mistral.
Skip it if: You want a ready-made booking system or a built-in team inbox. Bookings go through a Cal.com block, and live chat goes through a Chatwoot block. Removing branding starts on Starter, and WhatsApp and custom domains start on Pro.
9. Conferbot
Businesses that want an AI-drafted flow and every channel from the free plan.
- Generates a flow from a plain-English description, or start from a template, then edit it visually.
- One snippet on any site, plus an official WordPress plugin that passes WooCommerce cart details.
- Every channel on every plan, including website, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and Telegram.
- Live agent transfer, a shared inbox and ticketing on the Free plan.
Skip it if: You want bookings or payments on Free or Starter, since its plan table lists Google Calendar, Calendly and Stripe from Pro. Its calendar page outlines the setup, but we didn't test it, so try it on your own flow first. Conferbot branding stays on Free.
How we compared them
We started from the tools that AI assistants and Google named for website chatbots in October 2026, then kept nine that do different jobs on a business website. It isn't a complete list. For each vendor we read the homepage and pricing page, including its plan comparison where it has one, plus its booking, payment, embed or integration pages and help articles where an entry depended on them. We didn't read every page, and we didn't test the other products ourselves.
“No checkout listed” means we couldn't find a way to take a payment in the chat on the pages we read, not that one can't be connected.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the best free website chatbot builder?
- It depends on what the free plan has to do. Meerlume's Free plan includes the booking calendar and 150 conversations a month, with a Powered by Meerlume credit. Conferbot's free plan includes every channel, but its calendar and payment integrations start on Pro. Tidio, Landbot, HubSpot, Botpress and Typebot have free plans too, each with its own limits. Intercom lists a trial instead, and so does Chatbase's pricing page, though its docs mention a Free tier.
- How do I add a chatbot to my website without coding?
- Most builders give you a short snippet to paste into your site's HTML, or a plugin. Meerlume uses one script tag and has an official WordPress plugin. Tidio, Chatbase, Typebot, Conferbot, HubSpot and Intercom have WordPress plugins too, though Intercom's doesn't work on EU-hosted workspaces. Landbot and Botpress give you a snippet to paste.
- Can a website chatbot take bookings?
- Yes, but check what stands behind it. A real booking needs live availability, so two visitors can't take the same time. Meerlume has that built in, one customer per time on each calendar. Chatbase books into Calendly or Cal.com, Botpress connects Google Calendar, Calendly or Cal.com, and Typebot uses Cal.com. Landbot's Calendly block starts on Professional, and Conferbot lists Google Calendar and Calendly from Pro. HubSpot's bot offers a meetings link that visitors can usually use in the chat window, and Tidio's Calendly action shares a booking link.
- How does a website visitor change a booking later?
- A website visitor has no chat app to come back to, and the conversation ends when the tab closes. Meerlume gives them a six-character booking reference and a personal link to reschedule or cancel from any device. Add an email question to your flow so updates and reminders can reach them too. We didn't compare how the other tools handle this, so check before you choose.
- Can a website chatbot take payments?
- Yes. Landbot has a Stripe block for one-time payments on Premium plans, Typebot has a Stripe payment block, Botpress can create Stripe payment links, and Conferbot lists Stripe from Pro. Meerlume sends a Stripe Checkout link from your own account on the Growth plan and up. Tidio, Chatbase and Intercom use Stripe mainly to look up or change billing for existing customers.
- Do these chatbots use AI to answer visitors?
- Several do, including Tidio, Chatbase, Botpress and Intercom. HubSpot's chatbot is rule-based, and its AI customer agent needs a Professional or Enterprise plan. Meerlume works differently: AI builds the first version and reads typed messages the bot can't use as an answer, but it never writes a reply. The bot sends the messages in your flow and Meerlume's standard prompts, such as confirmations. You can turn that reading off for each bot.
- What does Meerlume cost for website chat?
- Website chat and the WordPress plugin are on every plan, including Free. On Free, emails to customers use standard English wording, with a daily and monthly limit. The Starter plan at $19 a month adds WhatsApp, removes the Meerlume credit and lets those emails use your own words.
